Written Answer by Ministry of National Development on whether the Home Improvement Programme (HIP), Lift Replacement Programme (LRP) and Neighbourhood Renewal Programmes (NRP) in HDB estates are affected in the short to medium term

Mr Darryl David: To ask the Minister for National Development whether the Home Improvement Programme (HIP), Lift Replacement Programme (LRP) and Neighbourhood Renewal Programmes (NRP) in HDB estates are affected in the short to medium term due the Government having spent a significant amount of funds to cushion the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Answer:

The funding for all selected upgrading projects under the Home Improvement Programme (HIP), Selective Lift Replacement Programme (SLRP) or Neighbourhood Renewal Programme (NRP) has not been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic as the funding was secured and set aside prior to project selection. 

To ensure that our HDB flats and precincts remain highly liveable, HDB will continue to implement HIP, SLRP and NRP for eligible blocks and estates, contingent on the Government’s overall fiscal position and budget availability.
