Written Answer by Ministry of National Development on sale of existing flats by owners to new or resale HDB flats

Mr Gan Thiam Poh: To ask the Minister for National Development (a) to date, how many flat owners could not sell their flats after the grace period given to them after the collection of keys to their new flats; and (b) whether the number has been increasing for the past three years.

Answer:

Existing flat owners who are collecting the keys to a new or resale HDB flat have up to 6 months to sell or transfer their interest in the existing flat. The number of households unable to do so today is around 600, similar to 2017.
