Mr Zainal Sapari: To ask the Minister for National Development whether HDB can consider granting an area for season parking to enable NEA-licensed mobile operators who sell ice-cream, canned drinks and pre-packed tit-bits to continue their livelihood and help them manage their operation cost.
Answer:
HDB car parks are provided primarily to serve the parking needs of the residents. Allowing commercial activities, such as the sale of food items, to be conducted in a dedicated season parking area could compromise the safety of the patrons and car park users, and may also cause dis-amenities to residents living in the area.
For these reasons, HDB has no plans to enable NEA-licensed mobile operators or other vendors to carry out their businesses in HDB car parks.
