Mr Png Eng Huat: To ask the Minister for National Development when will plans to develop Hougang Town Centre under the Remaking Our Heartland programme announced in 2011 be released given that the projected timeline for the development site to be launched is three years.
Answer:
HDB is currently working with the relevant agencies on the infrastructural and technical requirements for this land parcel at the Hougang Town Centre. The plan is for a mixed use development, integrated with the existing MRT station and bus interchange. Because of the complexity in this integrated development, agencies will need more time to resolve various technical issues before the site can be launched for tender.
