New Appointments to the Agri-Food And Veterinary Authority Board

Four new members will be appointed to the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) Board with effect from 1 April 2018. Chairman of the Board Mr Lim Neo Chian (林梁长) will be re-appointed, along with seven other Board members. Five members are stepping down from the Board.

New Board Members

The four new members are:

i.   Dr Ho Kim Wai (何金辉), Associate Professor, Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University;

ii.   Mr Jim Lim (林庆发), Partner and Head of Department (Intellectual Property & Technology), KhattarWong LLP;

iii.   Ms Toh Hwee Tin (杜惠珍), Director (Woman and Family Unit), National Trades Union Congress; Executive Secretary of the Food, Drink, and Allied Workers Union; and Executive Secretary of the Attractions, Resorts and Entertainment Union; and

iv.   Mr Low Xin Wei (刘昕炜), Director (Digital Workplace Programme Office); 2nd Director (HR Management Information and Systems); and Director (Strategic Planning and Research), Public Service Division, Prime Minister’s Office

Re-appointed Members

In addition to Mr Lim, the seven re-appointed members are:

i.   Mr Lim Kok Thai (林国泰), Chief Executive Officer, AVA;

ii.   Mr Eugene Wong (黄庆生), Founder and Managing Director, Sirius Venture Capital Pte Ltd;

iii.   Mr Dileep Nair, Independent Director, Keppel DC REIT Management Pte Ltd;

iv.   RADM (Dr) Tang Kong Choong (邓光中), Chief of Medical Corps, Singapore Armed Forces;

v.   Ms Chua Mui Hoong (蔡美芬), Opinion Editor, The Straits Times, Singapore Press Holdings Ltd;

vi.   Mr Lau Teck Sien (刘德贤), Partner and Chief Investment Officer, HOPU Investment Co. Ltd; and

vii.   Ms Harasha binte Khalid Bafana, Director, Adam & Hawa Network.

Members who are stepping down

The five Board members stepping down after their terms end on 31 March 2018 are:

i.   Mr Peter Chia Leong Bin (谢龙民), Chief Executive Officer, Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory Ltd;

ii.   Mrs Lee Ai Ming (龙爱明), Senior Consultant, Dentons Rodyk & Davidson LLP;

iii.   Mr Yeo Guat Kwang (杨木光), Assistant Director-General, National Trades Union Congress;

iv.   Mr Tan Kok Yam (陈谷炎), Deputy Secretary (Smart Nation & Digital Government), Smart Nation & Digital Government Office; and

v.   Professor David Chan（陈振中）, Professor of Psychology and Director, Behavioural Sciences Institute, Singapore Management University.

With these appointment changes, the AVA Board will have 12 members, including Mr Lim Neo Chian. All appointments will be for a two-year term until 31 March 2020. The full list of AVA board members is appended in the Annex.
