Municipal Services Awards awarded to 17 nominees

Oct 28, 2020

The annual Municipal Services Awards (MSA) recognise excellent citizen-centric delivery of municipal services, and inter-agency efforts to achieve effective solutions.

17 nominees have won the Awards this year. The award recipients from the various government agencies have demonstrated exemplary public service in solving complex, cross-cutting municipal issues in a systematic and innovative way, with a “do-it-first” attitude. The awards also recognise community partners who have worked closely with the Municipal Services Office (MSO) and government agencies so that all of us can enjoy a better living environment.

Municipal Services Award Winners

105 nominations were received this year. Of the 17 nominees that were awarded, five winners are in the Team Category, eight winners are in the Community Category, and four winners are in the Individual Category. The numbers are similar to previous years.

a. Team Category: Winning teams developed systemic solutions, adopted a ‘do-it-first’ approach, and collaborated with other agencies to resolve complex municipal issues.

b. Community Category: Winning teams collaborated with community groups to achieve effective municipal solutions.

c. Individual Category: Winning officers went above and beyond their work scope to deliver quality municipal services promptly.

Ms Sim Ann (Minister-in-Charge of the MSO and Senior Minister of State for National Development and Communications & Information) congratulated all award winners and said, “The winners of the Municipal Services Awards have gone the extra mile to deliver excellent municipal services, despite this being a difficult year when many agencies have had to take on additional roles to handle the pandemic, and adapt to COVID-safe working conditions. They do the public sector frontline proud. I would like to thank all municipal officers and community partners for their hard work, and encourage them to continue to work collaboratively.”
