MND Welcomes New EDGE Scholarship Recipients to the Family

Jul 19, 2016

64 freshly minted MND EDGE (Executive Development and Growth Exchange) scholarship recipients received their certificates from Minister for National Development, Mr Lawrence Wong this morning at the MND EDGE Scholarship Presentation Ceremony. (Please see Annex A for some of the students’ profiles.)

The Ministry for National Development (MND), our statutory boards (AVA, BCA, HDB, NParks and URA) and Gardens by the Bay received good response of 2439 applications for our undergraduate scholarships this year. Our scholarship recipients come from diverse backgrounds and possess different interests, ranging from a passion for architecture and city planning to love for nature and animals. Each of them is driven by the opportunity that the MND family offer to play an integral role in shaping Singapore into an endearing home and a distinctive global city.

Our scholarship recipients will pursue their university studies in both local and overseas universities, and in various fields ranging from biological science and engineering to design and architecture. They will join MND, our statutory boards and Gardens by the Bay after the completion of their studies. As different as their disciplines, places of work and studies may be, every MND EDGE scholarship recipient will play an important and meaningful role in contributing towards our pursuit of urban solutions to create a future-ready Singapore – one that is liveable, sustainable and resource-resilient.
