To ask the Minister for National Development why the Ministry did not issue a correction direction under the Protection from Online Falsehood and Manipulation Act to CNA when it published an article on 27 August 2024 that included an incorrect claim that the Lease Buyback Scheme computes sales proceeds based on a straight-line depreciation.

Answer:

Upon discovering the inaccuracy in CNA’s report on 27 Aug 2024 about the Lease Buyback Scheme, HDB informed CNA, which promptly corrected it. This is in line with established practice for mainstream media outlets.
