About the Speakers


Mr Tan Boon Kim

Mr Tan Boon Kim is the Executive Director in Enterprise Singapore’s Innovation and Enterprise Group who oversees the development of the startup and innovation ecosystems. Boon Kim and his team help promote Singapore as the centre for market-led innovation projects, helps develop innovative local enterprises and ensures that Singapore continues to be vibrant startup hub that makes us a suitable destination for global businesses looking to tap into the Southeast Asian market.

Prior to joining ESG, Boon Kim served three decades in the Singapore Armed Forces where he served in a variety of assignments in international policy, intelligence and operations. His last posting was as Singapore’s Defence Attaché to the US. Boon Kim is a graduate of the University of Manchester and holds a Masters of Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also completed the Stanford Executive Program.

 

Mr Yeoh Choon Jin

Mr Yeoh Choon Jin is currently the Director overseeing the Urban Solutions and Infrastructure Services industry cluster groups of Enterprise Singapore. Enterprise Singapore is the government agency championing enterprise development.

Choon Jin's portfolio covers the energy, water and waste management sub-sectors as well as built environment and real estate. He leads the team to engage committed enterprises to help them build their capabilities, innovate and expand their presence internationally. Choon Jin participates actively in various multi-agency collaboration platforms and works closely with stakeholders on sustainability-related discussions. Prior to his current role, Choon Jin was overseeing the Marine & Offshore cluster and also spent a few years in private sector R&D as well as the banking industry.

 

Mr Ted Howland

Ted is a Vice President in Group Sustainability at CapitaLand leading the Environmental Management & Innovation team.  He is a registered Professional Engineer (Civil; Massachusetts, USA) and Singapore Permanent Resident holding both Masters’ and Bachelors’ degrees in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Stanford University.

Ted has nearly twenty-two years of experience (fifteen in Singapore) in sustainability, development, project management, and environmental engineering. Previously he has led innovation, certification (Green Mark, LEAF, SITES), and Operational Environmental Monitoring & Management Plan implementations, in addition to being a Subject Matter Expert in Ventilation & Thermal Comfort, water treatment, water recycling, and wastewater treatment.

 

Mr Marc Handl

Marc oversees operations across Pan Pacific Hotel Group’s properties in Singapore, encompassing the market’s portfolio of Pan Pacific, PARKROYAL COLLECTION, and PARKROYAL hotels.

As a third-generation hotelier and restaurateur, Marc brings more than 22 years of hospitality management experience spanning Hyatt, The Peninsula Hotels, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Aman, and Rosewood Hotel Group. He has been based in major cities around the world, such as Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sao Paulo, Beijing, Chicago, Seoul, and Osaka.

He graduated with a Diploma in Hotel Management from Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne in Switzerland, Bachelor of Science from Cornell University in U.S.A., and M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in U.S.A.

Mr Anas Al Kassas

Anas Al Kassas is the founder and CEO of INOVUES, an award-winning climate-tech startup that is working to make buildings more efficient and sustainable by retrofitting the facades and windows with the latest energy-saving and smart glass technologies without replacement or disruption. Anas has over a decade of international experience as an architect and a facade system engineer. Prior to founding INOVUES and developing its patented insulating glass retrofit technology, he worked with renowned architectural firms and multinational facade fabricators and specialty glazing contractors.

His expertise lies in developing, manufacturing, and testing advanced window and curtain wall systems for high-rise buildings. Throughout his career, he worked on high-profile real estate developments around the world, including 200 Amsterdam Avenue, a 50-story building in New York City, Entisar Tower, the second tallest tower in Dubai, and Raffles City Chongqing, a 12-million-square-foot skyscraper city in China. Anas holds a Master of Architecture degree from Boston Architectural College and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Damascus University.

Joe Heng is founder and Managing Director of Climatec Corp Pte Ltd, a privately owned environmental engineering company incorporated in Singapore focused on providing innovative, state-of-the-art and economically viable solutions that work towards safeguarding and promoting a sustainable built environment.

Prior to founding Climatec, Joe was Director of Business Development Asia, Global Gas in Chevron and was responsible for the origination and development of the end-user LNG off-take market in Asia for the monetization of Chevron’s gas reserves in the region. Joe also spent 6 years in investment banking working on limited recourse financing for infrastructure projects in Asia.

Joe graduated from the University of Manchester with a B.A(Econs), Honours 2nd Class Upper, in Accounting, Finance and Econometrics
