New Board to Lead Professional Engineers

SINGAPORE, 16 April 2024 – The Professional Engineers Board (PEB) welcomes four new members to the Board for a 3-year term from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2026. The new members, who bring with them diverse expertise and experience from private sectors, are Sembcorp Architects and Engineers CEO Er. Marina Pong, WSP Consultancy managing director Er. Lee Zi Du, HY M&E Consultancy Services managing director Er. Ho See Fong, and Alpha Consulting Engineers executive director Er. Ng Beow Suan.

2 The 15-member Board comprises six members elected by the community of Professional Engineers (PEs), six members appointed by the Minister for National Development, and three ex-officio members (full list at Annex A).

3 Er. Lim Peng Hong has been re-elected as the President of PEB for a second term. Er. Lim is a Past President of the Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore (ACES). He was conferred the National University of Singapore Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award in 2018 and the ACES Lifetime Achievement Award 2017.

4 The new Board will continue to build on the good work by the previous Board members to raise the standards and profile of professional engineering practice in Singapore. Er. Lim said, “The new Board will work with the Professional Engineers community and stakeholders to uplift the standard of professional practice, and embrace new technology and continuous education to enable engineers to play a bigger role in Singapore’s drive towards a more resilient and sustainable smart city.

5 MND and PEB welcome the new Board members and also extend our deepest appreciation to the outgoing Board members (see Annex B) for their invaluable service and contributions towards the engineering profession
